Phil Coulter
“A Living Legend” was the accolade officially bestowed on Phil Coulter in a recent online poll.
While well deserved and hard earned, it was just the latest in a long line of awards garnered over his 50 years in music.
As a songwriter he has clocked up covers with a wide range of stars from Elvis Presley to Waylon Jennings, from Bobby Vinton to The Bay City Rollers – who could forget his anthem “Saturday Night”?
As a record producer his credits are formidable and include icons like Van Morrison and Sinead O’Connor, as well as classical greats like Sir James Galway, not to mention a veritable who’s who in Celtic music. Most recently he was the musical Mastermind and Composer behind the hugely successful CELTIC THUNDER.
As a recording artiste his million selling instrumental albums have brought him international success, a Grammy nomination – and a busy touring schedule.
As a performer he has been honoured with several invitations to appear at the White House and has enjoyed sold-out dates across the U.S., including prestige venues like Carnegie Hall, New York and Boston’s Symphony Hall.
In recent years he has been earning rave reviews for his one man show, an intimate and entertaining evening of music, songs and stories from his illustrious career. It’s an evening which one critic simple described as “Pure Gold”!
